MEGA MIS SCORES 100+ POINTS FOR CONVINCING VICTORY OVER KRKA IN NOVO MESTO

Basketball players of Mega MIS continued their ABA League season in the best possible way, convincingly defeating Krka in Novo Mesto after the break, 106-91 (29:27, 20:25, 22:27, 20:27). Under the leadership of coach Marko Barać, they started to break down their opponents in the third quarter, extending their lead in the decisive 10 minutes. Maintaining a good rhythm into the final quarter, Mega MIS quickly gained a double-digit advantage that the host couldn’t overcome. Mega MIS now has 11 victories after 21 rounds, with a record of 11-10, while Krka stands at 4-17.

Mega MIS center Uroš Plavšić had an outstanding game, setting a personal record in the ABA League with 32 points and grabbing nine rebounds for a PIR of 35. He was closely followed by Omercan Ilyasoglu with a double-double of 17 points and 11 assists (PIR 22), as well as Nikola Đurišić with 17 points and seven rebounds (PIR 29). Filip Jović also made the most of his opportunity, scoring 19 points in less than 15 minutes, becoming the team’s second-highest scorer. Stefan Miljenović finished with 11 points, falling just one assist short of a double-double.

In Krka’s lineup, Leon Stergar led with 21 points, followed by Jan Špan and Marko Radovanović, each contributing 19 points. Miha Cerkvenik scored 12 points.

The first quarter saw a fairly evenly matched battle with frequent lead changes. Krka had the upper hand in the first part of the quarter, but Mega turned it around, just for the Slovenian team to be leading 29-27 at the end of the high-scoring 10 minutes. A similar situation continued in the second quarter, with neither team managing to pull away. Barać’s team led 50-49 at halftime after another 10 minutes of a fluctuating scoreline.

The deadlock persisted after the break, but Mega MIS dominated the closing minutes of the third quarter. With the score tied at 69-69 and two and a half minutes remaining, they went on a 10-2 run, thanks to Plavšić’s four points and three-pointers from Ilyasoglu and Đurišić. Heading into the decisive period with a 79-71 lead, Barać’s team continued their excellent performance in the fourth quarter, extending their lead to 88-75 after Ilyasoglu’s three-pointer. While Krka attempted a comeback, Mega MIS’s sharpshooters maintained control, securing a well-deserved victory.

In the next, 22nd round of the ABA League, Mega MIS will host Cibona at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall. The game is scheduled for Monday, March 11, at 9:00 PM.
