BARAĆ: “WE BROUGHT THE GAME OUT AS A TEAM, AND THAT MAKES ME HAPPY”

The basketball players of Mega MIS continued their ABA League season in the best possible way, convincingly winning on the road against Krka in Novo Mesto, 106-91 (29:27, 20:25, 22:27, 20:27). Marko Barać’s team started breaking down their opponents in the third quarter, establishing a lead before the decisive 10 minutes. They maintained a good rhythm into the final quarter and quickly reached a double-digit advantage, which the host couldn’t overcome. With this victory, Mega MIS secured their 11th win after 21 rounds, holding a record of 11-10, while Krka stands at 4-17.

Mega MIS coach Marko Barać shared his impressions at the press conference after the match:

A very efficient game. The host opened exceptionally well from the three-point line, if I’m not mistaken, they had 8/11 in the first half. Some shots were open, some quite challenging. We introduced Stergar into the game with easy penalties and boosted his confidence; however, I congratulate the players on a very important victory. They managed to find a way to shape this game the way we wanted. We sought a way to prevent Krka from involving us in a five-on-five game, as in the first match from which we drew a lot of lessons. Two things really please me: we won the battle on the boards against a team that is dominant in that segment in the league, and we had more offensive and total rebounds. The second thing I would emphasize is the significant contribution of the bench players, by far the highest number of bench points this season, showing that we brought the game out as a team, and that makes me happy. I wish Krka a lot of luck in the future, and we continue with our work,” said Barać.

In the next, 22nd round of the ABA League, Mega MIS will host Cibona at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall. The game is scheduled for Monday, March 11, at 9:00 PM.
