BITADZE UNSTOPPABLE FOR A WIN IN BAR, MEGA BEMAX STILL UNDEFEATED

Mega Bemax basketball team continued with a great series of ABA league victories since they beat Mornar in Bar with 80:84 (17:29, 23:19, 21:19, 19:17) within the 5th round of the competition. Players coach Dejan Milojevic had a plus 17 on two occasions, Mornar managed to return both times, but with an exciting finish, Mega’s players again played excellent and in the end deservedly celebrated. The coach of Mega Bemax at this match could not count on injured Branislav Ratkovica and Milos Koprivica.

The best in the ranks of Mega Bemax was Goga Bitadze with 26 points (for 3pts 3-4), 10 rebounds and 3 blocks while Ognjen Carapic scored 15 points with a key lay-up for Mega in the finish. Bronson Koenig scored 23 points in the Mornar.

Mega Bemax is the first in the ABA league table with a score of 5-0 while the Mornar has a score of 2-3. In the next round on Saturday, November 3, at 17 Mega Bemax will host Partizan NIS.

Dejan Milojević started the match with Asceric, Mokoka, Mushidi, Fundic and Bitadze. The fantastic start of the match for Mega, which after 5 minutes of the match led with 3:20 with incredible Bitadze, who scored 15 points in this period with 3/3 for 3 points. The home team through Waller manages to bundle a few points from difficult positions, but Mega does not allow the Mornar to lower the difference below 10 points. Marjanovic hits on two occasions and is the result after the first 10 minutes os 17:29.

Carrington and Koenig started hitting at the beginning of the second quarter, so the difference after 4 minutes is only 2 points, 32:34. Then Mokoka entered the scene, he first hits three pointer, and then in the short period he has two great dunks with assiss for Carapic and Fundic. Mega returns a double-digit advantage, 36:48, but the finish belongs to Mornar, which binds 4 points, so result is 40:48 at half-time.

A great start to the second half for Mega which with a series of points returns a big advantage, plus 17 (43:60). However, Mornar returns to the match 56:60 with a new series of points, and 4th personal fouls of Mushidi and Marjanovic are also a problem. Mega through points of Carapic and Miskovic managed to keep the lead, so the result before the last 10 minutes was 61:67.

Better start of the last period for Mornar who after a few minutes of the game with the triple of Koenig comes to the tie, 69:69 and the problem for Mega is also the 5th personal foul of Mushidi. Already in the next attack, Carapic hit three and then Bitadze on two occasions was great under the basket for the advantage of Mega 71:77 with 5 minutes to the end. Mega had pllus 9, but the Mornar returned again and at 78:80 had an attack for the lead, but Bitadze was great defending Koenig 1 on 1. In the next attack from Carapic hit lay-up, and by the end of the match from the free-throw line confirmed Mega’s win for the final 80:84.
