AVDALOVIĆ: “A BIG WIN — THIS IS HOW WE NEED TO PLAY”

Mega Superbet recorded their biggest victory of the season so far, defeating Crvena zvezda Meridianbet 107–102 in Round 17 of the ABA League at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall (29:29, 28:33, 23:26, 27:14). Coached by Vule Avdalović, Mega matched the favored opponent from the opening tip. The teams traded the lead until the third quarter, when the visitors took control and then built a double-digit advantage early in the fourth period. However, Mega refused to back down, responded with a 13–0 run to complete the comeback, and in a tense finish showed quality and mental toughness to claim a big win. With this victory, Mega Superbet improved to 6–9, while Crvena zvezda dropped to 11–4.

Mega Superbet head coach Vule Avdalović shared his impressions at the postgame press conference:

“First of all, I would like to congratulate everyone involved in this game — my players, as well as the coaching staff and players of Crvena zvezda — on a very nice and entertaining match. We had the right approach to the game, especially when it comes to some basic tasks, and from that we were able to get out in transition. That’s the way we want to play. In the end, that tempo suited us better; in the final quarter we created an advantage and ultimately deserved to win. It’s a big win for us — for the entire coaching staff and the players. A great experience for them. This is the way we should be playing, and I believe this will be very important for their confidence, so that in the rest of the season we can try to perform at this level against teams that are realistically weaker than Crvena zvezda.”

In the next round of the ABA League, Mega Superbet will host Spartak Office Shoes from Subotica at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall. The game is scheduled for Sunday, February 8, at 12:00.
