MEGA SUPERBET DEFEATS VIENNA IN THE SPORTS HALL AFTER A GREAT BATTLE AND A LATE COMEBACK
The basketball players of Mega Superbet recorded a very important victory in Round 13 of the ABA League, as they defeated Vienna after a big comeback at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall, winning 100–98 (30–26, 20–23, 26–29, 24–20). From the very start, the game was quite evenly matched. Vule Avdalović’s team was better in the first quarter and held the advantage at halftime, but the opponent turned things around in the third period. The visitors then pulled away in the middle of the fourth quarter, but Mega refused to give up and completed a comeback. The game went down to a tense finish, but Avdalović’s players held on and recorded their fourth win (4–8), while Vienna suffered its ninth loss (2–9).
The best players for Mega Superbet were Savo Drezgić with 21 points and seven assists (index 25), and Bogoljub Marković, who recorded a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds and was the most efficient player on the winning side with an index of 29. Urban Kroflič also did a great job with 13 points, Lazar Gačić and Asim Đulović added 11 each, while Khyrell Luke also finished in double figures with 10 points.
For Vienna, Sulejman Boum was the top scorer with 24 points, Gregor Glas and Luka Ašćerić added 14 each, while Samuel Hunter and Rašid Mahalbašić scored 12 apiece.

From the opening tip-off, it was a hard-fought contest, but Mega mostly held the lead. After a three-pointer by Đulović and free throws by Marković, Mega went up 23–14 midway through the first quarter. The visitors responded and cut the deficit to two points, but Gačić had the final say, and after his two-pointer Avdalović’s team went into the break with a 30–26 lead. Early in the second quarter, Mega again pulled away, but a run by the opponent led to a turnaround. The teams traded baskets, but a Kroflič three-pointer in the final minute allowed Mega to go into halftime with a 50–49 advantage.
A similar situation unfolded in the third quarter. This time Vienna briefly created separation, but Mega quickly closed the gap and then tied the score. The teams went basket for basket, once again exchanging the lead, but Vienna ended the period in front, 78–76. The visitors built an eight-point lead midway through the decisive quarter. Mega responded with a 7–0 run, but Vienna had an answer and went up 94–87. Avdalović’s players refused to surrender, and after points by Kroflič entering the final minute, they took a new lead. The game entered a free-throw finish, Mega played smartly and preserved the advantage, securing a big win.

Mega Superbet’s next ABA League game is on January 18, when they will visit Bosnia BH Telecom in Sarajevo in Round 15.
