AVDALOVIĆ: “AN EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE GAME, WE WILL TRY TO IMPROVE OUR DEFENSE”

The basketball players of Mega Superbet recorded a very important victory in Round 13 of the ABA League, as they defeated Vienna after a big comeback at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall, winning 100–98 (30–26, 20–23, 26–29, 24–20). From the opening tip-off, the contest was quite even. Vule Avdalović’s team was better in the first quarter and held the lead at halftime, but the opponent turned the game around in the third period. The visitors then pulled away midway through the fourth quarter, but Mega refused to surrender and completed a comeback. The game went down to a tense finish, but Avdalović’s players held on to record their fourth win (4–8), while Vienna suffered its ninth loss (2–9).

Mega Superbet head coach Vule Avdalović shared his impressions at the post-game press conference:

– It was an extremely offensive game, with both teams playing very well on the offensive end. We saw good shooting percentages, a large number of points, and many made three-pointers. The Vienna team in particular hit 16 shots from beyond the arc, but I believe that was primarily a consequence of our poor defense. With our own bad defense, we allowed a large number of open shots, which they knew how to punish. Starting tomorrow, we will already turn our focus to preparing for the next game, which we play against CSKA on Friday. We will try to improve our defense, above all the intensity, so that we can look significantly better in that segment in the upcoming games,

said Avdalović.

Mega Superbet will play their next ABA League game on January 18, when they will visit Bosnia BH Telecom in Sarajevo in Round 15.
