SAVO DREZGIĆ AFTER THE WIN IN MOSCOW: “WE DID A GREAT JOB, ESPECIALLY ON DEFENSE”
Mega Superbet opened the Winline Basket Cup with a victory, defeating CSKA Moscow on the road 82–71 (25–20, 14–22, 20–17, 22–13). Vule Avdalović’s team started the game strongly, won the opening quarter, but CSKA responded and turned things around by halftime. The intense battle continued in the second half, with Mega tying the game before the decisive 10 minutes, then taking control, pulling away, and deservedly claiming the win.
After the game, Mega Superbet’s point guard Savo Drezgić shared his thoughts:
“Congratulations to my team, we did a great job, especially on defense. We played tough, just as we talked before the game, and that was the key. We ran well, scored easy points, played with confidence and without fear, made important shots, and finished with good defense,” said Drezgić.
Center Luigi Suigo also spoke about Mega Superbet’s excellent final quarter:
“It was our first game in this competition, and we came to play hard against a great team with great players. We had the lead in the final quarter and wanted to win through defense — and we succeeded,” added Suigo.
After this impressive debut win in the Winline Basket Cup, Mega Superbet now turns its focus to ABA League duties, where it will face Crvena zvezda in Round 4 on Sunday, October 25, at 8:00 PM.
The next Winline Basket Cup game under the VTB League umbrella will be played on Tuesday, November 4, when Mega Superbet hosts Lokomotiv Kuban at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall.
