MEGA SUPERBET BEGINS PREPARATIONS FOR 2025/26 SEASON

Mega Superbet’s basketball team has once again been among the first to start preparations for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

After undergoing routine testing on Sunday, head coach Vule Avdalović held the first team meeting with the players: Abdramane Sibi, Aleksa Milenković, Andrej Mušicki, Asim Đulović, Marko Vukčević, Ognjen Nikolić, Savo Drezgić, Urban Kroflič, Vuk Danilović, and Vuk Radojičić.

In the coming days, the team will be joined by Bogoljub Marković, Lazar Gačić, and Luiđi Suigo, as well as Ognjen Srzentić, who is currently representing Serbia’s U18 team at the FIBA European Championship in Belgrade.

This will be Vule Avdalović’s first season as head coach of the senior squad, and he has assembled his coaching staff.

Team Manager Aleksandar Rašić, who previously worked with Avdalović at OKK Beograd and played for Mega back in 2016, will oversee team operations.

Assistant coaches include newcomer Milan Mitrović and Branislav Božović, who is entering his third season with the club.

Strength and conditioning duties have been entrusted to Mladen Teofilović, who collaborated with Avdalović over the past two seasons with Serbia’s junior national team. He replaces Pavle Tasić in this role.

The medical staff remains unchanged, consisting of physiotherapists Miloš Savić and Vanja Radojević, and doctors Uroš Stanković and Boris Ukropina.

The team will train in Belgrade before heading to Puerto Rico from August 5 to 12, where they’ll play two friendly games in San Juan as part of their preseason schedule—both against Indiana University, on August 9 and 11.

“Our goals for the new season are to develop as many young players as possible, without losing sight of results. I believe those two go hand in hand—if the players perform well, the results will follow. That’s how we should approach the season. Right now, our focus is injury prevention in this initial phase. The two games in Puerto Rico are our main target for now. I’m not sure what kind of shape Indiana University is in, but I expect high intensity. College teams are known for strong full-court pressure, tough one-on-one play, and physicality on both ends. We’re all very excited and can’t wait to get started,” said Mega Superbet head coach Vule Avdalović.

Mega Superbet will kick off their ABA League campaign in the first week of October. Under the league’s new format, they’ve been placed in Group B alongside KK Vienna, Crvena zvezda Meridianbet, Budućnost VOLI, Cedevita Olimpija, Spartak Office Shoes, Bosna Visit Sarajevo, Zadar, and Ilirija.

We wish our team the best of luck in the new season!
