Basketball club Mega Superbet will compete in the newly formatted ABA League in the 2025/26 season. The regional competition has been expanded to 18 clubs, and the first phase will be played in two groups.

The new members of the ABA League are BC Vienna from Austria and U-BT Cluj-Napoca from Romania. Through a partially seeded draw, Mega Superbet has been placed in Group B, alongside the Austrian representative and the following seven teams: Crvena zvezda Meridianbet, Budućnost VOLI, Cedevita Olimpija, Spartak Office Shoes, Bosna Visit Sarajevo, Zadar, and Ilirija.

Group A includes: Partizan Mozzart Bet, Dubai, U-BT Cluj-Napoca, Igokea m:tel, SC Derby, FMP Soccerbet, Borac Mozzart, Split, and Krka.

Teams within each group will play a double round-robin format (home and away), over 18 rounds – with one team having a bye each round. After the first phase, the top four teams from each group advance to the Top 8 phase, while the remaining five teams move on to the Play-Out phase. All points from the first phase are carried over.

In the Top 8 phase, teams will play against teams from the other group (home and away), for a total of 8 rounds. The Play-Out phase consists of 10 teams (5th to 9th place from both groups), who will also play a double round-robin format against teams from the opposite group – for a total of 10 rounds.

After that, the top six teams from the Top 8 phase qualify directly for the playoff quarterfinals. Teams placed 7th and 8th in the Top 8, and 1st and 2nd in the Play-Out phase, will play a Play-In for the remaining two playoff spots. The winner of the 7th vs 8th match from the Top 8 goes directly to the quarterfinals, while the loser plays the winner of the 1st vs 2nd match from the Play-Out for the final playoff berth.

It was also announced that Mega Superbet’s general manager, Goran Ćakić, has concluded his term as president of the ABA League, and a new presidency has been elected.

The ABA League Assembly also adopted the competition calendar. The 2025/26 season will begin on the first weekend of October, and it will soon be determined whether the final phase will be played in a playoff or Final Four format.
