U15 BANJICA MEGA LOST IN THE FINAL OF THE SERBIAN CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT AND STOPPED ONE STEP SHORT OF A PERFECT SEASON

The U15 Banjica Mega team failed to round off their excellent season in the best possible way, as they suffered their first and only defeat in the final of the F8 tournament of the Serbian Championship against their peers from Partizan, played at the City Park Hall in Arilje – 64:70 (20:20, 20:17, 12:18, 10:15). Dejan Pejić’s players entered the halftime break with a three-point lead after an evenly matched first half, but a turnaround occurred in the third quarter. Banjica Mega regained the lead midway through the decisive period, but the end of the match belonged to the opponent, ultimately securing the victory.

The most valuable player for the Banjica Mega team was David Iordanchescu with 12 points and seven rebounds for a PIR of 18, while the top scorer was Petar Bjelica with 16 points, also registering a double-double with 10 rebounds. Vuk Stepanović also reached double figures with 10 points, while Maksimilijan Konstantin Papan grabbed an impressive 17 rebounds and scored six points for a PIR of 16.

In summary, the U15 Banjica Mega team suffered their first and only defeat of the season in the final. Before the Serbian championship finals, they won the Mini Cup in Niš and the New Year’s tournament “Borislav Reba Ćorković.”
