BARAĆ: “BORAC PREPARED THE MATCH EXCELLENTLY; CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GUYS ON THE VICTORY ON A VERY DIFFICULT COURT”

Mega MIS basketball players once again confirmed that they are in great shape, as they defeated Borac Mozzart in Čačak 80:86 (28:17, 16:18, 16:31, 20:20) in the 22nd round of the ABA League. Marko Barać’s team found themselves in a double-digit deficit after the first quarter, failed to turn the situation around until the big break, and then took over the game with a big run at the beginning of the second half to break the home team’s resistance in the middle of the last quarter and record the fourth victory in a row, the eighth in the previous nine matches in the regional championship. Thus, they took another big step towards qualifying for the playoffs and reached an 11-11 record. After 22 games, Borac has five wins and 17 losses.

Coach Marko Barać gave his impressions after the new triumph:

I congratulate the players on the victory. Borac prepared the match perfectly, shown by the first half’s result. They prepared brilliantly how to attack our defense, to open up their best scorers, and gave us a lot of problems defensively. We didn’t have a good flow of the ball, and we had seven turnovers on six assists in the first half. We didn’t attack the basket with enough confidence, and these are all things we tried to change at halftime. The opening of the third quarter – a completely different picture. We took advantage of some things we didn’t do in the first half, turned the score around, and found a way to win. Once again, I congratulate the boys on the victory on this tough court, where it is always a great pleasure for me to play. The crowd was phenomenal, they supported their team, and I do not doubt that a team trained like this, with this kind of support, will succeed in their goals until the end of the ABA league. I wish them that from the bottom of my heart,

said Barac.

In the next round, the Mega MIS basketball players welcome Split, and the match is scheduled for Sunday, March 26, from noon in the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall.
