MEGA MOZZART ON FRIDAY ON ROAD AGAINST KRKA, JOVANOVIC: “WE HAVE TO IMPOSE OUR RHYTHM IN DEFENSE”

Mega Mozzart on Friday in Novo Mesto to avoid the ABA League playoffs for staying in league!

On Friday, April 22, at 5 pm, Mega Mozzart will be a guest of the Krka as part of the remaining game of the 16th round of ABA League. Coach Vladimir Jovanovic’s team is playing a crucial match in the fight for survival in the regional competition, because in case of victory in Novo Mesto, they will mathematically ensure the avoidance of playing playoffs to stay in the ABA league, which would be played by the 5th placed Serbian team in the ABA 1 league.

Before the game against Krka, coach of Mega pointed out that his team should impose a rhythm in defense and find its rhythm in attack through that:

– Krka has a good team composed of experienced players led by Stipcevic, who is one of the leaders of the game, however, there are also Luka and Miha Lapornik. Adonis Thomas and Jurij Macura are in the frontcourt. Regardless of their placement, he thought that at certain moments this season they were not lucky enough and even some games they deserved to win, they lost in an unfortunate way. In addition to the strong home court they have and with all the above, I think they still play good basketball. We will try to stop their main players and impose a rhythm in defense and through that find our rhythm of attack,

said Jovanovic.

Mega Mozzart currently has 9 wins and 15 losses in the ABA league, while Krka has a score of 4-21. Mega and Krka have met 15 times so far in the regional competition with a score of 9-6 in favor of Mega. In the last match between these two teams in the 3rd round of this season, Mega celebrated at home with 73:72.

Mega’s captain Luka Cerovina emphasized the great importance of the match in Novo Mesto:

– An extremely important match awaits us, with which we have the opportunity to definitely ensure our survival in the league. We must not be deceived by the last place on standings for Krka, since even the strongest teams in the league struggled to get points in Novo Mesto. All of us in the club are aware of the importance of the game and we need to enter the game with the necessary energy, to impose our rhythm from the start and with a good and aggressive defense to reach a victory with which we would properly close this ABA season,

said Cerovina.

The match Krka – Mega Mozzart will be played on Friday, April 22, at 5 pm in the Leon Stukelj Sports Center in Novo Mesto, with a live broadcast on TV Arena Sport.
