JOVANOVIC: “EVERYTHING WE WERE AFRAID OF IN THE END CAME TRUE”

Mega Mozzart’s lost to Partizan NIS with 68:97 (24:26, 8:26, 16:20, 20:25) in the game of the 26th round of the ABA League in front of 1,500 spectators in the Ranko Zeravica Sports Hall. In the second quarter, coach Vladimir Jovanovic’s team played with a lot of mistakes on both sides of the field, which Partizan used to gain a convincing advantage, which they did not lose until the end of the game. The black and whites took revenge on the team of coach Vladimir Jovanovic for the defeat in the first part of the season when Mega celebrated with a score of 90:93 in the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall.

At the press conference after the game, Mega’s coach Vladimir Jovanovic pointed out that he could blame a lot to his players, but that when they play against Partizan in this mood, they leave very little space:

– Everything we were afraid of in the end came true. Partizan has its own way of playing and does not deviate from that. Already in the first minute, before the teams found the attacking rhythm, they established the level of contact and gained self-confidence with a good jump in the attack. In the first half, Punter showed why he is the main player of Partizan and we simply did not manage to stop him, although we were preparing for that. He really caused us a lot of problems. In the second quarter, Partizan established its rhythm, and we did not have a solution for their jump, which resulted in such a difference. In the second half, we tried to catch the connection, but it was only for a few moments, which turned out to be insufficient to make the game more interesting. I would have a lot to blame my players for, but when you play against Partizan in this mood, then they leave you very little space. Congratulations to Partizan and Zeljko Obradovic on the victory and I wish them to achieve all the set goals in both competitions,

said Jovanovic.
