MEGA WITHOUT WIN AGAINST CIBONA IN ZAGREB

Mega Bemax lost in Zagreb against Cibona with 89:71 (22:13, 23:22, 22:20, 22:16) within the 20th Round of ABA League. Players of coach Dejan Milojevic played a bad match at Basketball Center “Drazen Petrovic” where they were trailing from the end of the first quarter, so that on several occasions they could approach the home team, but not endanger the victory of Cibona. The coach of Mega Bemax at this match could not count on Ognjen Carapic.

The most effective in the ranks of Mega Bemax were Nikola Miskovic with 19 points and Adam Mokoka with 15. In Cibona the best was Damir Markota with 22 points.

After the 20th round of the ABA league, Mega Bemax is in 5th place with a score of 10-10 while Cibona recorded 8 wins. In the next round on Monday, March 11, at 6 pm, Mega Bemax will host in Sremska Mitrovica the current winner of the ABA League Buducnost VOLI.

Dejan Milojević started the match with Asceric, Mokoka, Atic, Miskovic and Nikolic. Excellent defense of Mega at the beginning of the match where they kept Cibona at only 2 points for almost 5 minutes for lead 2:7. However, there followed a very weak period in the game of Mega on both sides of the field, which Cibona used for the 16:1 series and two-digit lead 18:8. The poor series breaks Mokoka with a triple and the result after 10 minutes is 22:13 for Cibona.

Good energy Mega at the beginning of the second quarter, where from offensive rebounds they reach the points so that Atic would drop the difference with a triple from the corner, 22:21. Cibona responds with several three pointers and returns a double-digit advantage, 37:25. Mokoka hits three, and Fundic is good under the basket, and Miskovic with 5 points puts Mega close, 40:35. Cibona manages with 5 points to finish the halftime for 45:35 after 20 minutes of the game.

The second half opens Miskovic with three, but Mega continues to struggle in the attack, so the advantage of Cibona has reached the highest 14 points. Ratkovica and Mokoka with three pointers managed to keep Mega in the game, so young Frenchman scores after offensive rebounds in the last seconds for 67:55 before the last 10 minutes of the game.

At 7 minutes to the end of the match Mega managed to lower the minus to 8 points, but Cibona responded with two quick threes, after which Mega did not manage to endanger win of Cibona for the final 89:71.
