MEGA AFTER TIGHT FINISH WITHOUT WIN IN BAR

Mega Bemax basketball players failed to complete year 2017  with victory since they lost in Bar against Mornar wih 87:83 (18:25, 27:23, 24:19, 18:16) within the ABA League Round 14 in Bar. Players of Dejan Milojevic had 13 points advantage at the beginning of the second quarter in SC Topolica in Bar, but after reversak of the Mornar, they had two shot points in the finish for tie but they were not precise. The coach of Mega Bemax at this match because of injury could not count on Petar Aranitovic, Predrag Samardziski, Ognjen Carapic and Nikola Miskovic.

The most effective in the ranks of Mega Bemax was Goga Bitadze with 21 points, while Cancar and Fundić both scored 14. In the Mornar team, Derek Needham was unstoppable with 36 points ( 7-11 for 3 pts).

After 14 rounds, Mega Bemax has a score of 4-10 while the Mornar has 7 wins. In the next round, Mega will play in Ljubljana againtst Petrol Olimpija on Friday, January 5, at 19:00.

Dejan Milojević started the match with Rebic, Mushidi, Lazic, Cancar and Bitadze. Good start for Mega who after 2 minutes lead 2:8 with Bitadze who is good on both sides of the court. However, the home team over Needham and Lukovic equalized. Bitadze is on the bench due to second personal foul, and Cancar returns the lead to Mega, with two triples for 12:16. Koprivica twice hits mid-range field goals, but also because of two fast fouls went to the bench. Good period of Mega confirms Jovicic with lay-up for 18:25 after the first 10 minutes of the game.

The good start of the second quarter for Mega after three pointer of Cancar and points of Fundic from paint, the advantage has risen to 13 points, 19:32. The home team over Needham and Raley-Ross slowly melts advantage of Mega, so for two minutes to finish it is only 5 points, 40:45, and 45:48 at the half-time.

After a break at the half, Needham for the guests hits from the free-throw line and behind 6.75 for the lead of Mornar 50:48. Lead returned Bitadze with 7 points, but quickly gets two more personal fouls for four in total. Home team hits the triples in the series, passes into the lead which was the highest 8 points, 67:59. By the end of the quarter, Mega’s players played better in the defense from which they scored points in the attack, so before the last 10 minutes was 69:67.

Better start of the last quarter for the Mega, who after 2 minutes leads with 73:74. Needham hits the new two triples, but Sinovec returns. Mornar arrives at plus 5 in less than 3 minutes to the end. Bitadze gets a 5th personal foul, Fundic and Sinovec are half precise from the free throw line for 86:83 in less than two minutes to the end. Two good defends of Mega, but Sinovec and Cancar missed three pointers for a tie. Mega successfully defends another attack, but the ball reflects further from the basket, Fundic throws for it and after the refusal of the foot of the players of Mornar, the ball arrives to Needham who is fouled and with a single free throw throw puts the final score 87:83.
