ATRACTIVE MEGA CONVINCING AGAINST CIBONA AT THE START OF ABA LEAGUE

Mega Bemax Basketball Club has won against Cibona 95:88 (31:22, 26:26, 23:19, 15:21) in an extremely attractive match within the first round of the ABA League. The match was played in a nice atmosphere in front of 1500 spectators in the PSC Pinki Hall in Sremska Mitrovica where Dejan Milojevic’s team managed to control the result during the whole match, with the greatest advantage in the third quarter when they led with 20 points difference. The coach of Mega Bemax on this match because of injuris could not count on Kostja Mushidi, Nikola Miskovic and Ognjen Carapic.

The best in the ranks of Mega Bemax were Dylan Ennis 23 points and Vlatko Cancar with 17, and Stefan Fundcć with 16 points and 8 rebounds, as well as Goga Bitadze with 12 points, 9 rebounds and even 5 blick. In the Cibona team, Luka Zoric was the best with 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Milojevic started the match with the following five: Rebic, Ennis, Lazic, Fundic, Bitadze. At the beginning of the match Mega with drives of Ennis and offensive rebounds comes to a plus 6. Cibona manages to equalize, but  Rebic answers with points under the basket. Bitadze is good in defense under the basket, Cancar hits three under the foul so Mega manages to finish the first quarter with a slight advantage, 31:22.

In the second quarter, Mega’s players with an aggressive game and dedication get rebounds in attack and new points. After one such action, Čančar fantastically dunks in the counter for plus 12, 41:29. Rebic raised the lead to 15 points, but then there was a drop in the game that guests used to reduce the difference to 6 points. However, at the end of the half-time, Cancar first hits for three and then blocks Hall for 57:48 at half-time.

At the beginning of the second half Cibona over Rozic and Melvin reduce to 5, but Mega does not allow for a reversal and returns a double-digit advantage. In the finish of quarter, Bitadze and Cancar, took Mega to plus 20, 80:60. Guests from Zagreb finished the third period with a 7:0 series for 80:67 after the third quarter

In the last 10 minutes of the game, Mega routinely held the lead, the guests tried to jeopardize it, but Ennis with the two three pointers denied the attack, so in the end Mega won with 95:88.

The next match Mega Bemax will play on Wednesday, October 4, from 21:00, when they will play away against Crvena zvezda mts.
