ALL GREAT REVERSALS OF MEGA

Magic reversal of Mega Leks against Partizan was definitely sports impression of the day. Players of Dejan Milojevic were in the 27th minute of the match trailing 18 points of difference (55:37) but in the remaining 14 minutes scored a staggering 48 points with 23 received. Audience in full Pionir witnessed another dazzling finish of Milojevic boys and success is even greater given that the current average age of roster of Mega Leks is only 19.3 years.

That the aggressive play in defense will be a trademark of the season in Mega, could already be sensed during the preparation period and at the beginning of the season in the ABA league. Undeniable talent has been there from the beginning and then came certification of quality. However, even during the summer the young players of Mega Leks showed a line of courage and character in their games and that they never surrender. As a rule, every win created another hero. The leading roles were once key players and the other time, players from the end of the bench. However deployed roles, the team was always winning. Against Partizan the best parties of the season played a still U18 Aleksandar Aranitovic with 15 points and 7 rebounds as the joker in this match, Milenko Veljkovic who in 9 minutes at the court had 7 points and 6 rebounds.

During the Mega Leks Cup on 12th and 13th of September in Kraljevo, players of Dejan Milojevic in the semifinals during the third quarter were down by 13 points difference against the experienced team of Turkish Trabzon and at the end in a thrilling finish celebrated with 72:70 with great plays of Ivanovic at key moments of the match. In the final tournament, Red Star had a double-digit lead in the third quarter, but the Mega over great Zagorac managed to get back in the game and reduce only on point difference but they had no luck in the finish of the match.

At the general rehersal before the start of the season on 22th of September in Sremska Mitrovica, Mega were in the final period trailing 7 points against the Turkish League champions and Euroleague team Karsiyaka but at the end with a fantastic defense and a series of 10:0 came to victory, whose hero, alongside captain Zagorac, was Simeunovic with fantastic game in defense and 19 points scored.

In the second round of ABA league against Partizan in Sremska Mitrovica, at 32nd minute the score was 53:53 but until the end of the match was followed by a series of Mega 23:6 and 76:59 victory. Unstoppable in this match was Timote Luwawu-Cabarrot with 27 points (6/9 for 3).

In the third Round against Buducnost in Podgorica, Mega were losing even with a 23 point lead (35:12) in the 13th minute, but then they managed to cut only 4 points difference but unfortunately did not triumph at the end.

In the next Round 4, Mega Leks was in a very difficult position because after 11 minutes wre losing 20 points difference (8:28) against MZT in Sremska Mitrovica. At the end of the Mega came up quite a convincing victory, 82-70, scoring in the second and third quarter, a total of 57 points with only 31 received. At a time when Mega was far behind, most experienced player Predrag Samardziski moved the team, who ended the match with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Two rounds later, in the match against Igokea, after 15 minutes it was plus 13 (20:33) for guests from Aleksandrovac but in the exciting finish Mega celebrated with 69:68. The hero of this victory was Nikola Ivanovic with 25 points, of which he scored 18 in the first half, when he prevented an even greater pull off from guests.

The away game in Ljubljana in the 11th round, it was not a pleasant situation was in the 17th minute when Olimpija reached double-digit lead, 11 points (44:33) buw Mega eventually won by 89:99. The best in the win was Danilo Nikolic with double-double performance with 17 points and 11 rebounds but a splendid role had Stefan Simic who, in the absence of Jaramaz and Djokovic due to injuries, had 11 points (5/5 FGs) with 2 assists in 10 minutes at the court.

Neither against Krka in the 12th round was not the best start to players Dejan Milojevic, who after 12 minutes were trailing 18:28. At the end of the game Mega got the victory after overtime with 84:77. Alpha Kaba already on his second official match in the ABA league, where he missed the first 10 rounds due to injury, proved to be a great reinforcement for Mega since for 15 minutes in the game had 12 points and 6 rebounds.

On the way to the playoffs, young team of Mega Leks expect many more tough matches and who will then pop out as hero, remains to be seen.
