EUROLEAGUE EXAM FOR MEGA!

On Sunday 8th of November at 7 PM Mega Leks will play the derby match of the 9th round of ABA league against Cedevita in Zagreb. Mega is in a series of five consecutive victories in the ABA league and on Sunday will try to extend that record. In the last round players of Dejan Milojevic were convincing against Sutjeska, 101: 72 while Cedevita won the away game against Tajfun with 67:78. For this match are injured Rade Zagorac and Alpha Kaba.

Coach of Mega Leks Dejan Milojevic emphasizes that Cedevita is in great shape:

“We’re playing against one of the best teams in the league. Cedevita is in great shape. In the Euroleague they won away matches against Efes nad Armani and they are absolute favorites in this match. At every game we go to do our best and we will see if this will be enough to win”.

Mega Leks after 8 rounds shares the second place in the league with 6 wins and 2 losses while Cedevita in 4th place with 5 wins and 3 losses. In ABA league they so far played a 4 matches with a score of 1-3 for Cedevita. The last meeting that was played on the 23rd round of last season, Mega in brilliant match celebrated in Zagreb after overtime with 103: 107.

Timote Luwawu-Cabarrot is at the top of the list of best scorers of the league with 14.6 points per game, believes Mega Leks can win:

“We are expecting a tough game that is extremely important for our placement in the standings. We’re playing against direct rivals in the fight for the playoffs, the team that is much more experienced than us, but as in all matches so far in Zagreb we will not surrender and we will try to capture the victory. If primarily in the defense we play the way we know we will have a chance to win a break that would have meant a lot for us”.

said Luwawu-Cabarrot and continued:

“The team has a great atmosphere and everyone have a great fun, but we’re still training serious and attentive to the more and faster progress. We are trying to convey this approach to the game and so far, it has bring us bring good results. It’s great that we have a lot of players who can push things when we need it most, and even though we are very young team, we can always rely on each other, on and off the court”,
