AVDALOVIĆ: “WE PLAYED A QUALITY GAME, TEAM DEFENSE WAS AT A HIGH LEVEL”
Basketball players of Mega Superbet recorded another win in the ABA League this season, defeating Split in Round 9 of the Play-out phase at the TC Dejan Milojević with a score of 95-72 (22:17, 24:27, 26:13, 23:15). The team led by coach Vule Avdalović gained a crucial advantage in the third quarter, during which they scored twice as many points as their opponent. Mega managed to preserve the lead in the final quarter and even extend it in the closing minutes, securing their 11th win (11-14) and handing Split their 19th loss (6-19).
Mega Superbet head coach Vule Avdalović shared his impressions at the post-game press conference:
– We played a very high-quality game for most of the match. What we haven’t done well throughout the season was team defense, and today we really looked good in that segment—especially in the first, third, and fourth quarters. In the second, we had trouble stopping their bench players; they surprised us a bit. But overall, the approach to the game was good. Our team defense gave us a lot of running opportunities and easy fast-break points… That’s something we’ve been striving for all season, and today it was at a very high level. I’m very happy for the players that we managed to deliver that and close out the game in this way with a well-deserved win,
said Avdalović.
In the final round of the ABA League Play-out phase, Mega Superbet will face Borac in Čačak. The game is scheduled for Sunday, April 26, at 20:00.
