MEGA SUPERBET SCORES 109 AND CONVINCINGLY DEFEATS ILIRIJA
Mega Superbet’s basketball team delivered an excellent performance in front of their home crowd at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall, defeating Ilirija convincingly 109–83 (23–24, 34–18, 26–18, 26–23) in the 5th round of the ABA League. Vule Avdalović’s squad had a slower start but gained momentum midway through the first quarter and pulled ahead to a double-digit lead in the second. They continued their strong play after halftime, steadily increasing the gap and entering the final quarter with a 23-point advantage. Just a few minutes into the last period, it was clear they would claim a dominant victory, improving their record to 2–3 while handing the Ljubljana side their third defeat (1–3).
Bogoljub Marković had an outstanding game, leading Mega with 30 points, seven rebounds, and three assists for an efficiency rating of 35. He was followed by Marko Vukčević with 14 and Luigi Suigo with 13 points (6 rebounds), while Asim Đulović and Urban Kroflič each added 10.
On the opposing side, Luka Kureš scored 17 points, Wendell Green added 15, and both Edo Murić and Simisola Shittu contributed 11 each.

The visitors opened the game better, taking a 7–0 lead. Mega gradually found its rhythm, and after a scoring run led by Marković, closed the gap to 17–19. They didn’t manage to turn the score around yet, but Marković’s layup in the final seconds of the quarter reduced the deficit to just one (23–24). The turnaround came quickly—just two minutes into the second quarter, Đulović hit a three-pointer to give Mega a 27–26 lead. Avdalović’s team kept up the tempo and, after a big scoring run, built their first double-digit advantage (36–26). Mega took full control, leading by as many as 17 points and going into halftime with a commanding 57–42 lead.
Avdalović’s players kept the same high tempo after the break, reaching a 20-point margin (63–43) within the first two and a half minutes of the third quarter. They maintained control without major issues and entered the final period up 83–60. It quickly became clear that Mega was in full control, but the young Avdalović squad didn’t slow down, further increasing their lead and sealing a big victory in the 5th round of the regional competition.

Mega Superbet’s next ABA League game is scheduled for November 14, when they will visit Zadar in the 7th round. In the meantime, they will play their second Winline Basket Cup match, hosting Lokomotiv Kuban on Tuesday, November 4, at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall.
