THE VERY SUCCESSFUL COOPERATION CONTINUES; MEGA MIS EXTENDED THE CONTRACT WITH AVRAMOVIĆ FOR ANOTHER THREE YEARS

The successful cooperation between Mega MIS and junior team coach Dragoljub Avramović, which started in 2018, will continue in the coming years as Avramović signed a new three-year contract with the club!

After another great season of Mega juniors, winning titles in the U19 ABA league and the Serbian championship, with victories at the junior Euroleague qualifying tournament and the “Rising Stars” tournament in Patras, as well as excellent participation in the final tournament of the junior Euroleague, where the U18 Mega missed a bit of luck to make it to the fourth grand final, the agreement on the extension of cooperation between Mega and Avramović was reached very quickly.

After signing the extension with Mega MIS, Avramović pointed out that he is happy to continue cooperation with the club that functions as a big family:

It is a great pleasure to work in a club that is well organized and functions like a big family. We are continuing the cooperation that has been very successful for five years, and I am sure that in the future, we will continue to produce great results and that we will have even more players who will play senior basketball at the highest level, whether they are called Nikola or not,

Avramović joked at the end.

The general manager of Mega Goran Ćakić stated that the extension of cooperation with Avramović was agreed upon very quickly and to mutual satisfaction:

After five seasons of very successful cooperation with Dragoljub Avramović, and bearing in mind the particular importance of the club’s younger categories, in which we are leaders in the region and at the very top in Europe, we agreed very quickly and extended the cooperation for another three years to our mutual satisfaction. In addition to the outstanding results that we recorded in the previous period, we are particularly pleased with the large number of players who, after the junior categories, played for the first team, and we believe that this will continue in the future,

Ćakić said.

In 2018, Dragoljub Avramović came to Mega as the coach of the cadet selection and in the first season, won the title of U17 Triglav League of Serbia with only one defeat, while in the next with the juniors of Mega, he was first in the Roda Junior League of Serbia table at the time of the suspension of the league due to Covid-19 pandemic. With the junior selection, he won titles in the U19 ABA league in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and he won the title in Serbia in 2021 and 2023. The juniors of Mega had great results in the junior Euroleague, where they became champions last year at the F8 tournament held in Belgrade.

Of the players he trained in the cadets and juniors of Mega, 12 made their debut for the first team. Also, Nikola Jović is the first player Avramović coached who was selected in the NBA draft and signed for an NBA team, and we believe that number will increase in the coming years.
