MEGA MIS DEFEATED VOJVODINA AND BOOKED A PLACE IN THE SEMI-FINALS OF THE RADIVOJ KORAC CUP

The basketball players of Mega MIS qualified for the semi-finals of the Radivoj Korać Cup by defeating the Vojvodina team 75:62 (19:18, 25:20, 19:14, 12:10). Marko Barać’s team did not open the match well, they quickly found themselves in a double-digit deficit. Still, they managed to respond on time and, already in the first quarter, reached a turning point. They soon established control in the second period, and although the Novi Sad team did not give up, Mega did not let go of the advantage until the end. Thus, they secured a place among the four best teams in Nis, and for the final, they will fight with the better team in the duel between FMP Soccer Bet and Metalac from Valjevo.

The top scorer in the Mega MIS team was Ahmaad Rorie with 13 points, Matej Rudan added 12, and Malcolm Cazalon had 11. However, with only seven points, the most valuable player in the winning team was Danko Branković, as he had seven rebounds, four blocks, two assists, and three steals for a PIR of 21. Petar Kovačević also had a good game with eight points and five rebounds, as well as two assists and a steal each for a PIR of 15.

For Vojvodina, Dušan Beslać scored 23 points, while Stefan Šajin had 19.

Vojvodina’s basketball players opened the match well, tied three three-pointers over Beslać, and then took a 13:2 lead, but then Mega started to wake up. With four connected three-pointers, they immediately melted the rival’s advantage, made a complete turnaround with an 11:2 series, and went to the break with a minimum lead. Mega continued in the second part, where they stopped in the first, scored 12 points, and took the lead with 31:18. After that, it was played in mini-series, and the rival managed to respond at the end of the first half, so before the big break, he reduced the deficit to six points – 44:38.

There was a big fight after the break, but Mega kept the lead. At the end of the third part, they managed to increase the surplus through Rorie, Kovačević, and Đurišić, and met the last 10 minutes with a comfortable 63:52.
