BARAĆ: “SATISFIED WITH OUR APPROACH TO THE GAME AND THE REACTION OF THE TEAM, BUT WE LACKED DECISIVENESS TO MAKE THE GAME EVEN CLOSER”

Mega MIS lost to Partizan Mozzart Bet in the fifth round of the ABA League 86:76 (25:26, 25:13, 22:19, 14:18). Marko Barać’s team was equal with Željko Obradović’s Euroleague team for most of the match. In the end, Mega fought back from a 16-point deficit but didn’t have the strength for a big turnaround. After tonight’s meeting, Mega is 0-5, while the Black and Whites remained at the top of the regional championship at 5-0.

Coach Marko Barać shared his impressions after the match:

Congratulations to the Partizan on their well-deserved victory. We had a good approach, and the guys were concentrated and reacted in terms of toughness and everything that didn’t work in the previous match. With that, I’m well pleased. Partizan is a phenomenal team, they have many advantages compared to us, and it was a difficult task to prepare for the game. When you are missing shots, it can’t be easy to play an even game against a team that objectively has better quality. That was the case tonight, as we missed some open shots that the boys usually make,

said Barac.

He also analyzed the course of the match and pointed out what were the turning points:

They made a key advantage at the end of the second quarter. We settled for some shots when we had open situations to score easy baskets. Several offensive rebounds and not-so-good defense in one-on-one situations followed, which the host skilfully used. In the second half, in the middle of the fourth period, we had a couple of good defensive plays and extra space in the counterattack, but it seems to me that we were not determined enough to bring the game into a complete draw,

the coach of Mega MIS concluded.

In the next round of the ABA League, the Mega MISwill host the Studentski centar. The meeting is scheduled for Sunday (November 6th) at noon in the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall.
