JOVANOVIC: “I AM GLAD THAT WE ENDED THE MATCH IN THE RIGHT WAY”

Mega Mozzart defeated Borac from Cacak in the first match of the finals of the playoffs of the Serbian Super League with 85:71 (32:20, 20:17, 13:22, 20:10). The players of coach Vladimir Jovanovic are separated from the placement in the semifinals of the playoffs and the duel with Crvena zvezda by only one more triumph, which they will have the opportunity to achieve on Tuesday at 6 pm in Cacak. A possible third match would be played on Thursday, May 26, in the Mega Factory hall.

At the press conference after the game, Mega’s coach Vladimir Jovanovic pointed out that he was glad that his team ended the game in the right way:

– We have changed a lot of teams, we have a very young team, which was the youngest in the ABA league, and now it is even younger. It is not easy to control all that, but we started very well. We completely controlled the whole first half in terms of both attack and defense. However, Borac opened the third quarter with a good shot for three points, that is the way they play and what they forced throughout the season. They hit three easy threes and equalized the match. By pressing all over the field, they made us nervous, but I am glad that we finished the game in the right way. Out of four quarters, we won three, and now we have a difficult game ahead of us in Cacak, because Borac will certainly react, and it will have great support from the fans in its hall,

said Jovanovic.

Mega’s captain Luka Cerovina stated that Mega will surely have a much harder match in Cacak:

– Congratulations to Borac on a great match. We started the match very well, we managed to close that jump in the attack, which caused us a lot of problems in the match with Vojvodina. Borac later changed the defense a bit, which we didn’t do very well. We also missed some open shots, so the game went into an uncertain course. But, still, we managed to bring the match to an end properly and as we wanted, and now we have a rematch in Cacak, where we will surely have a much harder match,

said Cerovina.
