JOVANOVIC: “I AM HAPPY BECAUSE OF BETTER GAME AND ENERGY, BUT I AM SORRY BECAUSE OF LOST POINTS”

In the game of the 24th round of the ABA League, after an incredible finish, Mega Mozart lost on road against Split with 81:80 (25:27, 13:16, 21:12, 22:25). In the result seesaw during the entire course of the match, coach Vladimir Jovanovic’s team was trailing 4 points in 5 seconds until the end, and then Jovic hit a three-pointer under a foul with a second until the end, but he failed to introduce the game in overtime since he missed an additional free throw.

At the press conference after the game, Mega’s coach Vladimir Jovanovic pointed out that he was happy with the better game and energy, but that he was sorry for the lost points:

– I can be satisfied in terms of the fact that we played this game better than some previous ones and that is something that makes me happy. It was a very nice and competitive match for the audience that I would praise on this occasion, it was a real sports atmosphere. However, at certain moments, the lack of concentration of my basketball players came to the fore, especially under the baskets where we did not give some easy points. On the other hand, we allowed 11 offensive rebounds, they didn’t have 20, but they caught very important balls that they turned into easy points. Congratulations to Split on the victory, I can’t be happy about the defeat, but I’m happy with the better game and energy that we showed, but I’m sorry for the lost points,

said Jovanovic, and when asked how he experienced the last 5 seconds of the game, coach of Mega answered:

– From despair to splendor to despair again. You all saw and participated in it, as did the audience. It was nice to watch, very difficult for me.

Regarding the next opponent Zadar, Jovanovic pointed out the following:

– Tomorrow we will travel to Zadar and we will play there on Monday against a team that has also been playing well lately. It will not be easy for us, we will try to recover, but it is very important to me to play an even better game,

Jovanovic finished.
