JOVANOVIC: “FOR THE MOST OF THE GAME WE PLAYED GOOD, WITH THIS MUCH MISSED THREES YOU CAN’T BEAT CEDEVITA OLIMPIJA”

Mega Mozzart lost in the game of the 22nd round of the ABA League in Ljubljana to Cedevita Olimpija with 92:81 (31:24, 18:17, 17:18, 26:22). Coach Vladimir Jovanovic’s team returned to the game from a double-digit deficit on several occasions, but in the end a large number of missed shots for 3 (6 three-pointers from 30 attempts) cost them the opportunity to make a surprise in the Stozice hall.

At the press conference after the game, Mega’s coach Vladimir Jovanovic stated that he was partially satisfied:

– Already in the announcement of the match, I said that I think that Cedevita Olimpija is one of the best attacking teams in the ABA league. They are adorned with the high rhythm of the match and a large number of shots for three points, we knew where the danger was coming from, but as a result show we did not manage to fully respond to the challenge that this match brought. We didn’t open game good, allowed easy rebounds, especially in the first quarter when they made a difference and in the last when we allowed some jumps in the attack after a successful defense, which they crowned with shots for three points to separate the difference we could not reach. In some parts, we were looking for rhythm, we had our chances to catch the connection, however, we missed open shots from the transition, and with such a low percentage of shots for three points, it is not possible to get Cedevita Olimpija. We played most of the game with great quality, two or three times we were on a completely correct difference where we could threaten the home team, but our lack of experience and concentration, as well as some hasty moves led to this result. I would like to congratulate Cedevita Olimpija on the victory, and I could blame some things on my players, we will try to correct them until the next game, but it could be said that I am partially satisfied,

said Jovanovic.
