JOVANOVIC: “IN THIRD QUARTER WE WERE UNRECOGNIZABLE, WE WERE NOT ENERGETICALLY ON OUR LEVEL”

Mega Mozzart were defeated by Igokea in the 21st round of the ABA League with 71:81 (15:14, 22:18, 13:28, 21:21). The empty minutes of the home team in the third section cost Mega very much in a duel that was extremely important in the fight for the sixth place that leads to the playoffs. Although Mega had the lead and a very solid game in the first 20 minutes, all that was unfortunately gambled off in the second half.

At the press conference after the game, Mega’s coach Vladimir Jovanovic pointed out that his team was not recognizable in the third quarter:

– It is very difficult to talk after this game, especially after this second half, which spoiled my complete impression. That third quarter was very bad. I think that both teams opened the match very nervously. The first quarter was with a small number of points, but we established a solid flow of the ball and gained an advantage. Even our lead was less than it should have been, considering that in that end of the second quarter, we threw two or three balls like kids or out and missed the chances for easy points. In the third quarter, we were unrecognizable, we were simply not at the level of energy, not a single player. On the other hand, Igokea found its rhythm on its own, and partly from our mistakes, they started hitting shot and they redirected the game to their side. After that, everything on our part was just an attempt, because we were not able to make a turnaround. Congratulations to Igokea on the win, and it remains for us to try to fix that for the next game,

said Jovanovic.
