JOVANOVIC: “IN THE BIGGEST PART OF THE MATCH WE SUCEEDED TO RESPOND TO ZVEZDA’S STRENGTH”

After a great fight and a lot of excitement, Mega Mozzart was defeated by the Crvena zvezda mts with 69:76 (25:25, 15:25, 12:18, 17:13). Mega Mozzart was incomplete in this match as well, since coach Vladimir Jovanovic could not count on Malcolm Cazalon and Aleksander Balceroswki, while Borisa Simanic was injured during the match and did not return to the game after that.

At the press conference after the game, Mega Mozzart’s coach Vladimir Jovanovic pointed out that his team played most of the game with a good idea and in good intensity:

– Until the very beginning of the game, we practically did not know in which team we would play. The previous two or three days, we had accidental injuries, Vujic and Balcerowski. We hoped to enter the match somewhat stronger in that center position, given the size of Zvezda in the racket, the players reacted as they could, but they were not ready for this match since we entered the match with only one ” five”. We played most of the game with a good idea and in good intensity. We fell into some two, three segments, but in most statistical parameters we were equal. We failed to control their jump in attack, especially in the last quarter, and free throws were also on their side. It was very important to me to respond to Zvezda’s strength in the right way, and we succeeded in that for most of the match. But, in a situation when our rotation was reduced, we had to enter some alternative defenses, which in a way opened the space for Zvezda to jump in attack. Congratulations to Zvezda, and my boys have time to rest and recover, so we have a trip to Montenegro for a duel with the Studentski Centar and Buducnost. There is a really demanding schedule ahead for my young team, especially since not all players are healthy,

said Jovanovic.
