PAUNIC REINFORCED MEGA IN FRONT OF DECISIVE MATCHES

Mega Bemax will be further strengthened in the decisive ABA League duels as former Serbian national team player Ivan Paunic signed a contract with the club until the end of ABA League. This will not be the first stay at the club for experienced guard, having previously spent part of the 2005/06 season on loan to Mega from Partizan. Paunic  will have the opportunity to make this season’s debut on March 1st from 12:00  when Mega Bemax will meet Igokea at the Hall of sports Ranko Zeravica.

Upon signing his contract with Mega, Paunic said he was pleased to play at the club he played for at the beginning of his career:

– After a long break after the surgery, I am happy to play in front of our audience in a team made up of many talented and promising players. I am particularly pleased that it will be at Mega, the club I played at and at the beginning of my senior career and which has grown a lot since then, which speaks about by the big names that came from there and came out. I believe that my playing and experience will mean a lot to Mega in the finish of the fight for survival in the ABA League, and to me to show that I am again at a very good physical level,

said Paunić.

Born on January 27th 1987, Ivan Paunić is 195 centimeters tall and plays on Guard position. He started his senior career in Partizan, and in a rich international career, in addition to Mega, played for many teams, such as Mornar (Montenegro), Vojvodina, Oostende (Belgium), Aris (Greece), Nizhny Novgorod (Russia), Virtus Bologna (Italy), Lagun Aro (Spain), Fuenlabrada (Spain), Astana (Kazakhstan), Buducnost (Montenegro), Tofas (Turkey) and Chemidor (Iran).

For the national team, he won three gold medals first in youth categories, and after silver and gold with the University selection, he won second place with the A team at Eurobasket in 2009, and also played for Serbia at the 2010 World Cup and Eurobasket 2011 .
