MEGA MISSED SHOT FOR WIN AGAINST CEDEVITA

Players of Mega Leks stood on the brink of big surprise as they in Zagreb lost to Cedevita with 89:85 (18:24, 26:12, 19:28, 26:21). Mega in the finish had a shot for the lead but Novak missed three points after which Cedevita with lay-up came to victory. Coach of Mega in this match because of injury could not count on Marko Tejic and Radovan Djokovic, while Nikola Rebic was on the team but did not play.

Best in the ranks of Mega Leks were Radosav Spasojevic with 18 points and Jovan Novak with 16 points and 7 assists, while in Cedevita best was Luka Babic with 27 points. Mega Leks after 18 rounds has the score 5-13 while Cedevita came to 13 victories. The next match Mega Leks game is already for two days as it will on Tuesday from 20:30 play away against Belgian team Telenet Oostende, within the 13th round of Group D of the Basketball Champions League.

Dejan Milojevic started the match with following five: Novak, Mushidi, Zagorac, Spasojevic and Kaba. It is Kaba who opened match with a fantastic dunk after a rebound. Good defense of Mege has resulted in two steals for easy laying Novak, who like Spasojevic, hit three for 5:12 after 4 minutes. Cedevita hit two baskets under a foul but returns Marelja with lay-up and dunk and Novak with a new three for 10:19. Cedevita thrives from the free throw to cut the difference and the first quarter ended with 18:24.

The second quarter opened Cedevita better who took the lead 32:27. Zagorac interrupted a series of home team0 and then he was joined in the attack by Mushidi. They played basket for basket until the last two minutes of the period, when after Novak three pointer for 39:36, Cedevita linked 5 points for 44:36 at the break.

Mega opened third quarter with threes of Zagorac and Spasojevic however, advantage of Cedevita was not drop below 7 points difference. However, at the end of a quarter of players of Mega with series where Kaba was good with a 2 plus 1 and then a dunk after a rebound fir 62:60. Kaba then gets fourth personal foul but Mega excellent period ends with flouter of Novak and then his great assists to the basket of Cancar for 63:64 after 30 minutes.

Spasojevic and Zagorac were hitting threes and down to minus 2, but Cedevita punished Mega’s errors in defense and goes to 7 points difference, 83:76. Spasojevic moved Mega and then Zagorac hit the basket of backboard under a foul for 86:85 to 1:20 to the end. Begic to 22 seconds with ramps stoped shot of Zagorac, a refeeres first judged the wall was downward path but after reviewing the video, changed decision. Babic then hit one free throw for Cedevita and the result is 87:85 with 21 seconds by the end. Novak in the next attack didn’t score three from tough position after which Katic with lay-up solved the winner for the final 89:85.
