CANAK:”VERY IMPORTANT RESULT FOR SERBIAN BASKETBALL”, ARANITOVIC:”WE GAVE OUR MAXIMUM”

Juniors of Mega Leks made a fantastic success by reaching the final tournament of the junior Euroleague in Berlin and the triumph in Rome was complete with a selection of Aleksandar Aranitovic as Most Valuable Player of the tournament

MVP of the tournament in Rome, said that this recognition would not have been possible without great games of whole team:

“I think the MVP award is less important at this time, although it is certain that feels good. However, none of that I could not achieve without great teammates and in general,  the entire team”,

said Aranitović which after that referred to the entire tournament in Rome:

“We started poorly, with the defeat of Armani. It was the first match and we all know that they are the most difficult in the tournament. Fortunately, coincided with some of the results, we had to won agaisnts Unicaja with more than 9 points difference and we did and made it to the finals”.

Aranitović stresses that it is important that the team after a poor start in the final, quickly jumped back into the game:

“In the final game did not start too well(20:5 for StellaAzzurra) but we were able to return quickly, to show the character that we know that we have and in the end we deserved to win”.

In the end Aranitovic says he can not wait the final tournament in Berlin:

“I think there’s time for Berlin but is certain is that everyone can not wait to get ready and better in order to deliver their best”.

Coach of Mega Leks Nenad Canak was very pleased with winning the tournament but points out that in the final was extremely difficult:

“Very bad start to the match, we were tight and we did not have solutions for their defense that they have played a little dirty. Players from the bench then played great, and we were already at the end of the first quarter back in the game and since then we have had open competition”,

Canak said and continued:

“In a homely atmosphere, we played against a team that has seven foreigners in the team and in the end we deserved to celebrate. Congratulations to my boys on the will and shown qualities”.

Canak said that this is a success not only for the club but also for Serbian basketball:

“This is a very important result for the club who is growing every day and for Serbian basketball which got another team to compete for the top ranking in the junior basketball. We are very pleased to have accompanied the trend of success of the first team of the club, not to mention seniors, as they are all very young and talented guys”,

Canak ended.
