NO LUCK FOR MEGA

Mega Leks failed to make a big surprise since in a crowded hall of the PSC “Pinki” lost after overtime to Crvena zvezda Telekom with 78:79 (16:17, 19:14,23:16, 11:22, 9:10) within the 14th round of ABA league. Players of Dejan Milojevic had a great chance to win but in the last minute of the fourth quarter dropped advantage of 4 points and then lost in overtime after one free-throw from Jovic and missed half-court shot from Ivanovic in the last second.

Mega badly started the match and the first points scored Luwawu-Cabarrot after effective dunk for 2:7 after 3 minutes. Zvezda took lead to plus 11 but Ivanovic and Nikolic hit back with threes. Quarter was ended with flouter from Ivanovic for 16:17.

Mega took the lead in the second quarter but Zvezda with a good defense managed to return advantage. In the finish Mega with three from Nikolic and lay-up from Kaba reaches 35:31 at the halftime.

Mega in the third quarter over Jankovic kept the advantage and with threes form Jaramaz and Nikolic came to plus 11, 54:43. Before last 10 minutes the score was 58:47.

A large fall in the attack game in the last period for Mega, Zvezda used  to take lead in the finish but Jankovic and Nikolic returned advantage for Mega,  plus 4 in the last minute.  Zvezda succeeded in two attacks, Ivanovic lost ball and then Jovic missed three for the win.

In overtime Mega fought back and had a chance to win but to little more than 2 seconds until the end Luwawu-Cabarrot fouled Jovic, who hit one free throw. In the remaining time Ivanovic was very close to hit half-court shots but the ball didn’t go in.

With this defeat, Mega is at the 4th position in the ABA league with the score 9-5 and in the next round on December 19th from 7 pm plays on side against Partizan.

At halftime, the three lucky viewers who caught shirts competed in half-court shots for a valuable prize – TV but were not precise. However, with hit threes, two viewers have won consolation prizes, mobile phones. The prizes were provided by the company IDEA.
