AVDALOVIĆ: “A TOUGH GAME, WE FAILED TO ADJUST”
Mega Superbet were unable to secure a win in Round 6 of the ABA League Play-Out phase, as they lost to FMP from Železnik in the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall, 79–84 (19–26, 25–18, 16–11, 19–29), after a hard-fought contest.
Coached by Vule Avdalović, Mega trailed after the first 10 minutes, then turned the game around in the second quarter, heading into halftime tied. They built a lead in the third quarter, but another turnaround came midway through the fourth period. The battle for every possession lasted until the final second, but Mega failed to regain the lead and ultimately suffered defeat.
After 22 games played, Mega Superbet holds a 9–13 record and currently sits second in the Play-Out standings, while FMP has the same number of wins but one game fewer (9–12).
Mega Superbet head coach Vule Avdalović shared his impressions after the game:
– Congratulations to FMP Železnik on the win. It was a tough game, with a lot of contact we’re not used to, even though we knew how they play — very physical, with plenty of contact. Simply put, we failed to adjust to the refereeing criteria. We had a high number of turnovers, missed easy layups, and also missed some open shots. They played an excellent offensive fourth quarter and ultimately deserved the win,
said Avdalović.
In the next round of the ABA League Play-Out phase, Mega Superbet will host Krka. The game at Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall is scheduled for Monday, April 6 at 19:00.
