AVDALOVIĆ: “THE DIFFERENCE IN THE FIRST QUARTER WAS DECISIVE”
The players of KK Mega Basket (Mega Superbet) lost their first game of the second phase of the ABA League in Železnik to KK FMP, 87–102 (17:32, 18:19, 28:25, 24:26). The team coached by Vule Avdalović found themselves trailing by double digits in the opening quarter, improved their play from the second period onward and were an equal opponent for the rest of the game, but failed to cut the deficit and fully get back into contention. With the results from the group stage carried over, Mega Superbet now stands at 6–11 after the loss in Železnik, while FMP has a 7–10 record.
Mega Superbet head coach Vule Avdalović shared his impressions at the post-game press conference:
– Congratulations to FMP on a well-deserved win. They were better from the start, created a big gap in the first quarter and after that it was very difficult to catch up – I think that was decisive. We reacted afterward, but it was impossible to overcome such a large deficit. We conceded a high number of points again, had problems with their offensive rebounding, and various things were not as they should have been. In that situation, it was not possible to get the win,
said Avdalović.
Up next is the Radivoj Korać Cup in Niš, scheduled from February 18 to 21, where Mega Superbet will face OKK Beograd in the quarterfinals on Thursday, February 19.
