AVDALOVIĆ: “A DESERVED WIN FOR ZADAR”

Mega Superbet’s basketball team failed to secure a new ABA League victory, losing in the seventh round on the road in Zadar 73:88 (24:19, 19:27, 17:20, 13:22). Vule Avdalović’s squad gradually increased their tempo and took control midway through the first quarter, finishing the opening 10 minutes with a five-point lead. They held on well early in the second period, but Zadar responded with a strong run that turned the game around. Mega stayed close throughout the third quarter, even briefly taking a minimal lead, but entered the decisive final period six points behind. The more experienced home side then pulled away to a double-digit advantage. Mega fought until the end but didn’t have the strength for a comeback.

Mega Superbet head coach Vule Avdalović shared his impressions at the post-game press conference:

– Congratulations to Zadar on a completely deserved victory. They came into this game after several losses, and today they showed that they are a very high-quality and very experienced team that knows how to play basketball. They read situations well on both defense and offense and deserved to win. As for us, we had 19 turnovers – this has been following us from game to game. When we give the ball away like that, we don’t even get shots at the basket, and instead hand the opponent possessions from which they score easily. That was the key to the game. We allowed a large number of points off turnovers, and those are very hard to defend. Zadar were the better team, and I wish them luck for the rest of the season,

said Avdalović.

In the next round of the ABA League, Mega Superbet will host Budućnost Podgorica, with the game scheduled for November 23 at 12:00 in the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall.
