BOGOLJUB MARKOVIĆ: “THE ABA LEAGUE AWARD MEANS A LOT TO ME”

Young basketball player from Mega Superbet, Bogoljub Marković, has been honored for his outstanding performances this season with the ABA League Rising Star award.

During the current season, the young Mega Superbet forward averaged 13.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and a performance index rating of 17.2, making him one of the key players for coach Marko Barać’s team, which once again secured a spot in the playoffs.

– The ABA League Rising Star award means a lot to me. All the effort and hard work I put in here in the gym has paid off. I’m happy to receive this award as a sign of success and I hope for more achievements like this in the future,

said Marković, emphasizing the importance of the ABA League recognition.

He believes he made great progress this season:

– Making the playoffs is a great achievement for us as young players, but the main focus has definitely been on improving individually as players. I’m confident we’ve accomplished that, and now I hope for the best in the playoffs.

Mega Superbet’s players now face a tough battle in the ABA League playoffs, where they will meet Budućnost in the quarterfinals:

– This year’s playoffs are extremely strong. Nothing is guaranteed in the semifinals, and I believe we are a very serious opponent for any team, even though we’re the eighth seed. I’m sure it’s going to be really exciting.

The first game of the series is scheduled for Sunday, May 11, in Podgorica, with the series played in a best-of-three format. Marković shared his expectations:

– I expect us to put up the best fight possible. We’re aware of Budućnost’s quality and experience. Most of us are playing in the playoffs for the first time, and we’ll give it our all to provide a strong challenge to Budućnost,
