MEGA SUPERBET BEGINS ITS FIGHT IN THE SERBIAN SUPERLEAGUE FROM THE QUARTERFINALS, BARAĆ: “AS ALWAYS, WE APPROACH WITH GREAT AMBITION AND ENTHUSIASM”

The Mega Superbet basketball team will compete in the Serbian Superleague again this year, and according to the adopted competition system, their battle for the national championship will begin in the quarterfinals, where they will face the winner of the match between FMP and Zlatibor. In the event of a positive outcome, Mega’s opponent in the semifinals will be the highest-ranked Serbian team from the ABA League, Partizan.

At a press conference on May 8, ahead of the start of the Superleague, Mega Superbet’s coach, Marko Barać, shared his expectations:

– As always, when it comes to competition for the national champion title, we approach it with a lot of ambition and enthusiasm. I would like to wish everyone good luck in the competition. We have the ABA League playoffs, and that’s our first next obligation. I had the opportunity to follow the KLS throughout the entire season, and it’s a great thing that a large number of young players got the chance. Players who came out of that league have made progress, reaching the ABA League and the national team. I’m confident that there is talent to continue this progress next season,

said Barać.

In the final phase of the national championship, six teams from the ABA League will compete, including Mega, along with Crvena zvezda, Partizan, Spartak from Subotica, FMP, and Borac, as well as the two highest-ranked teams from the Serbian Basketball League, Vršac and Zlatibor. The competition system is such that in the round of 16, two games will be played, and the point difference will decide the outcome. In the following phases, games will be played in a best-of-three format.

The dates for the games from the quarterfinals onward will be determined later, depending on the results in the ABA League playoffs, where Mega Superbet will face Budućnost from Podgorica.
