MEGA TRIUMPH AGAINST BUDUCNOST
The Mega Superbet basketball team achieved a significant victory in the 22nd round of the ABA League, defeating one of the leaders of the regional competition, Buducnost Voli from Podgorica, with a score of 93:79 (23:12, 23:25, 24:22, 23:20) in the Ranko Zeravica Sports Hall.
Under the guidance of coach Marko Barac, they handed Buducnost their first away defeat of the season and ended their 12-game winning streak in the regional competition.
This victory came despite the absence of five injured regular players, including Sergej Macura, Kosta Kondic, Jack Kayil, and Dusan Tanaskovic, while Mihailo Milutinovic was on the roster but couldn’t play. Additionally, Filip Jovic played only five minutes before feeling unwell and was unable to continue.
The debut for Mega Superbet’s first team was made by 17-year-old Ognjen Srzentic, while Bogoljub Markovic carried a significant load, and his performance against Buducnost has been the talk of the entire region. He finished the game with 27 points, five rebounds, and four assists, earning a performance index rating of 34. Alongside Mihailo Petrovic (19 points and eight assists), he was crucial to the big win against Buducnost.
It’s also worth noting that Urban Kroflic played his best match in the senior team, scoring 13 points, with four rebounds and four assists (index rating of 20).
After this big win against Buducnost, Mega Superbet will continue their fight in the regional competition on Sunday, March 16th, when they visit the defending ABA League champions, Crvena zvezda.
