THE SERBIAN SUPER LEAGUE BEGINS, MEGA MIS DIRECTLY IN SEMIFINALS AGAINST PARTIZAN, BARAĆ: “WE WANT TO PROMOTE AS MANY YOUNG PLAYERS AS POSSIBLE”

Thanks to their excellent performance and fourth-place finish in the ABA League standings, Mega MIS have secured a direct spot in the semifinals of the Serbian Super League, where they will face Partizan. Red Star Belgrade has also secured direct semifinal berths, while the fourth spot in the playoffs will be contested between Čačak’s Borac and FMP Železnik, as well as the top two teams from the Serbian Basketball League, champions Vojvodina, and Subotica’s Spartak.

Ahead of the start of the Super League playoffs (April 19th), a press conference was held with representatives from all teams participating in the domestic competition, and Mega MIS coach Marko Barać shared his expectations:

It’s been a very successful season for us so far. We started preparations long ago, back in late July, and assembled a team capable of playing good basketball. We expect to be even better as the season progresses. We have the utmost respect for the domestic competition. We want to promote as many young players as possible through it, as we did last season, which benefited the Serbian junior national team and later us. I’ve watched many Serbian Basketball League games and am satisfied with basketball’s level and quality. I’ve watched OKK Beograd the most, and it managed to promote several good players. We still have work to do in the ABA League,” Barać said.

The semifinal series is scheduled from June 2nd to June 7th, with the playoff finals set to take place from June 10th to June 17th. In case the ABA League playoffs, where Mega MIS holds a 1-0 advantage in the quarterfinal series against Cedevita Olimpija, end earlier, the schedule for the Serbian Super League will be adjusted accordingly.

Mega MIS’s best result in the Serbian Super League was runners-up in the 2020/21 season.
