MEGA MIS YOUTH TEAM STARTS BATTLE FOR THE EUROLEAGUE JUNIORS FINAL TOURNAMENT

From March 1st to 3rd, the Mega Basketball youth team will participate in another qualifying ANGT (Adidas Next Generation Tournament) for the Euroleague Juniors. Under the guidance of coach Dragoljub Avramović, the team will compete in the first phase of the competition at the Aleksandar Nikolić Hall. The opponents in Group B include peers from Barcelona, Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Partizan, while Group A features the youth teams of Red Star, Olimpia Milano, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and the Next Generation team.

Mega Basketball will face Partizan on the first day of the tournament, scheduled for Friday, March 1st, at 13:00. Coach Avramović emphasizes the team’s readiness:

“We are expecting three demanding days and four matches. We are ready and can’t wait for the tournament to start. I am confident that we will give our current maximum and strive to achieve the best possible result,” said Avramović.

Representing Mega Basketball at the ANGT qualifying tournament will be Dejan Filipović, Vuk Danilović, Luka Solomun, Abdramane Siby, Nikola Božilović, Nikola Karalić, Ognjen Nikolić, Ognjen Srzentić, Aleksandar Vojinović, Pavle Bačko, Petar Ostojić, and Petar Milosavčević.

On the second day, Saturday, March 2nd, Mega’s juniors will first clash with Hapoel at 9:00, followed by a match against Barcelona at 19:00, concluding the first phase of the tournament.

The third day of the qualifying tournament, Sunday, March 3rd, is reserved for placement matches. The match for seventh place will be played at 10:00, for fifth place at 12:00, for third place at 14:00, and the top two teams from each group will compete in the grand final at 16:30. The victorious team will secure a spot in the final tournament scheduled from May 23rd to 26th in Berlin, parallel to the Euroleague Final Four.

Mega Basketball is a regular participant in the Euroleague Juniors Tournament, which they won in 2022. They have finished as runners-up twice (2019 and 2017) and were part of the final tournaments in 2023, 2021, 2018, and 2016.
