BARAĆ: “TEAM VICTORY, PLEASED WITH A HIGH NUMBER OF ASSISTS”

In the 20th round of the ABA League, Mega MIS basketball team hosted Mornar-Barsko zlato at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall and secured a valuable victory with a convincing performance in the final moments, finishing with a score of 101-87 (26:27, 24:21, 22:17, 29:22). After a highly efficient but evenly matched first half, the players chosen by Marko Barać started building a lead in the third quarter and gained complete control in the decisive period. After a series led by Uroš Plavšić resulted in a double-digit advantage, they didn’t let it slip away, successfully concluding the game and returning to the winning track. With this victory, Mega MIS welcomes the Radivoj Korać Cup with a record of 10-10 in the regional competition, while Mornar suffered its 16th loss (4-16).

Mega MIS coach Marko Barać shared his thoughts at the press conference after the game:

Congratulations to my players on the victory. A very important win for us in a game we knew would be tough. Mornar is a very potent offensive team with many players who can make a difference and many players capable of creating significant problems with individual solutions. Defensively, we weren’t quite there in the first half. We allowed them to gain shooting confidence, hitting tough shots. However, that’s the way they play, and we should have been better in that aspect. What certainly pleases me is the high number of assists. After the game in Zadar, where I wasn’t satisfied with ball movement, it was excellent this time. We have three players with double-doubles, but this is truly a team victory. The players played very good defense when needed, giving us the opportunity to run fast breaks. Every team plays easier when they run, and that’s simply modern basketball, which is what we insist on. Congratulations to Mornar for their fight, and I wish them the best of luck going forward,

said Barać.

The Mega MIS basketball team now awaits the Radivoj Korać Cup in Niš from February 14 to 17, where they will face Vojvodina in the quarterfinals. The match is scheduled for Thursday, February 15, at 17:00.
