MEGA MIS RECORDS CONVINCING VICTORY AGAINST OKK BEOGRAD IN PREPARATIONS

Mega MIS basketball team continued their preparations for the upcoming season, as they defeated OKK Beograd with a score of 104:60 at the Mega Factory arena (21:10, 22:12, 33:18, 28:20). Marko Barać’s team established a significant lead in the first quarter and continued to play at a high tempo, consistently extending their advantage and ultimately securing a convincing victory.

All the players given an opportunity by Barać contributed to the scoring sheet, with Omercan Ilyasoglu and Petar Kovačević being the top scorers, with 17 points each. The talented Turkish point guard also registered seven assists, resulting in a PIR of 22, while Kovačević had a PIR of 25. Andrija Jelavić also had a standout performance, ending the game with the highest PIR in the team – 28. The young forward notched 15 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.

Oleksandr Kobzystyi and Uroš Plavšić both added 14 points and Plavšić, who returned to Mega from the US, achieved a double-double with an impressive 13 rebounds, leading to a PIR of 25. Stefan Miljenović also reached double digits with 11 points, and Nikola Topić excelled in setting up his teammates, finishing the match with ten assists.

Mega began the game strongly, establishing a double-digit lead after the first 10 minutes (21-10), and they maintained the same pace in the second quarter, heading into halftime comfortably ahead at 43:22. Barać’s players diversified their offensive strategies even further after the break, scoring 33 points in the third quarter and effectively eliminating any doubts about the game’s outcome by the start of the final 10 minutes, with the scoreboard showing 76:40. Mega managed the rest of the game in a composed manner, and Barać utilized the opportunity to distribute the playing time among the main team members evenly.

This was Mega’s third match in their preparations, following two games against the University of South California team in Mykonos. Before the ABA Super Cup (from September 18 to 20), they have upcoming tests against Igokea m:tel (September 02), Romanian Cluj (September 05), and Spartak Office Shoes (September 12) at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall.
