MEGA MIS DEFEATED BORAC IN ABA CLASH AND KEPT THE MAXIMUM SCORE IN THE SUPER LEAGUE OF SERBIA

Mega MIS basketball players improved the winning streak in the Super League of Serbia, as after Vojvodina and Metalac, they also defeated Borac Mozzart in the fourth round of Group B, 92:78 (25:26, 21:18, 28:20, 18: 14). After a great fight in the first half, Marko Barać’s team managed to pull away after a brilliantly played third quarter. The team from Čačak tried to return to the decisive period, but the Mega basketball players repelled the push of their rivals and, with a series of good moves, regained a double-digit advantage, which they preserved in the last few minutes without any major problems.

Mega MIS thus remained the only team without defeat in Group B after three played rounds (3-0), while Borac suffered its first loss (2-1). Vojvodina is third with a 1-2 performance, while Metalac has yet to win (0-3).

The top scorer in the winning team was captain Luka Cerovina with 28 points, but the talented centers of Mega marked the game. In addition to 25 points, Matej Rudan also had ten rebounds for a PIR of 30, while Danko Branković also recorded a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds, which gave him the highest PIR in the match of 34. Aleksa Uskoković followed the mentioned trio with 13 points and nine assists.

In the Borac team, Uroš Čarapić scored 28 points, Nikola Kocović added 14, while the experienced Sava Lešić finished the match with 13.

Barać’s team opened the match a bit better and, after two minutes, took the lead at 7:3, but Borac responded with six tied points. A big fight followed, and the rivals took turns in the lead so that the guests met the first break with a minimal surplus (25:26). Dejan Mijatović’s team led until the middle of the second half when Mega took control with a 13:2 run. A tight ending of the first half followed, but the host went to a big break at 46:44.

The third quarter was crucial. Rudan and Cerovina rose to the challenge and allowed Mega to gain a double-digit advantage, so the decisive 10 minutes went to 74:64 in favor of Barac’s team. All that Borac managed to do in the final period was to briefly reduce the deficit to a single-digit, after which the Mega MIS basketball players broke the opposition’s resistance with a 10:4 run and paved the way to victory.

On Sunday, May 21, the Mega MIS basketball players will have another meeting with the Borac, this time in Čačak. It is scheduled for 6 pm in the Hall near Morava, and a victory would open the door for Marko Barać’s team to reach the semi-finals of the Serbian Super League.
