BRANKOVIĆ’S VALUABLE CONTRIBUTION TO CROATIA’S VICTORY, GRBOVIĆ SECURED A PLACE IN WORLD CUP WITH MONTENEGRO

FIBA February window is over, and the Mega MIS basketball players were in action again. This time only two of them, Danko Branković in the jersey of Croatia and Andrija Grbović for the national team of Montenegro, while Matej Rudan (Croatia), Malcolm Cazalon (France), as well as Aleksa Uskoković and Nikola Đurišić (Serbia), did not get a chance.

Danko Branković contributed to Croatia’s 84:74 victory over Austria in the last round of pre-qualifications for EuroBasket 2025. The young center of Mega MIS spent 23 minutes on the court, recording six points, seven rebounds, and two steals.

Andrija Grbović spent a minute and a half on the floor in the 88:70 triumph over the Czech Republic, which secured the Montenegrin national team a place in the Mundobasket, and scored two points and one rebound during that time.

France coach Vincent Collet included Malcolm Cazalon in the extended list but did not allow him to debut in the French jersey against the Czech Republic and Lithuania.

Aleksa Uskoković defended the colors of Serbia in Athens during the 92:97 overtime defeat against Greece. Still, he was not among the 12 selected for the match with Great Britain, which Svetislav Pešić’s team won 101:83 and secured a place at the World Cup. Nikola Đurišić was on the extended list and trained with the national team, but did not get to play again in the national team’s jersey during the February FIBA window.

The national team break is over, players worldwide are returning to their club duties, and following Monday, March 6, Marko Barać’s men will play for the first time since the Radivoj Korać Cup final in Nis. As part of the 20th round of the ABA league, they will welcome Mornar-Barsko zlato in the Mega Factory hall.
