BARAĆ: “CONGRATULATIONS TO MY PLAYERS ON A VERY GOOD TOURNAMENT AND THE FIGHT THEY PUT IN EVERY MATCH”

Mega MIS basketball players qualified for the fifth final of the Radivoj Korac Cup but failed to win Žućko’s lefty for the second time, as after 40 minutes of fighting, they lost to Crvena Zvezda 96:79 (22:23, 29:21, 27:21, 18:14). Marko Barać’s team did well against their favored opponent in the first half. Still, the Euroleague-caliber Zvezda’s team made a crucial difference in the third period and won the Cup in Niš.

Coach Marko Barać gave his impressions after the match:

I congratulate Red Star on winning the Cup. They showed their quality. Although we entered the game well and finished the first quarter with an advantage, it was clear that we had some problems. Mainly on the rebounds, where we should have shown more, I don’t think we had a single offensive rebound. To look better on the field, some things need to be fixed. We maintained suspense, but my players needed to learn to reach a double-digit deficit. We didn’t have a good flow of the ball, and we thought everything would fit in one shot. Crvena Zvezda has a phenomenal team of individuals who can solve a game in one move. I congratulate my players on a very good tournament and the fight they put in every game,

said Barac.

The national team break follows, and Mega’s basketball players return to the court in the first week of March when they will host Mornar-Barsko zlato in the Sports Hall of Ranko Žeravica in Round 20 of the ABA League.
