AFTER A HARD-FOUGHT GAME, MEGA MIS COULDN’T WIN AGAINST ZADAR

Mega MIS suffered a defeat in Zadar 96:90 (23:30, 23:19, 26:19, 24:22). Marko Barać’s team had an excellent start to the match in the Krešimir Ćosić hall and after a very efficient first period had seven points lead. They managed to keep the advantage until the big break, but the experienced team of Daniel Jusup led by Luka Božić managed to take the lead in the third quarter. In the last 10 minutes, both teams fought hard, but the home team triumphed in the final moments. After visiting Zadar, Mega is 0-3, while the Croatian team registered its second victory (2-1).

Danko Branković led Mega with 20 points, and Dragan Milosavljević added 19 points in his return to the club. Malcolm Cazalon and Ahmaad Rorie added 10 points each. In the Zadar team, Luka Božić stood out with 33 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists, while Dario Drežnjak added 22 points.

From the opening, it was a high paced game, and it was clear that we were in for an attractive match with plenty of points. The Mega basketball players started better, Milosavljević immediately showed that he’s in good shape, so Marko Barac’s team scored 30 points in the first quarter and had seven points lead at the break. In the second period, both teams fought harder on defense, and the home team managed to reduce the deficit, but the Mega players did not allow them to take the lead, and they went to the break with a three-point surplus.

After returning from the locker room, Božić and Drežnjak continued to cause problems for the young team of Mega, so Zadar managed to break the resistance of their rivals and take the lead. In the dying moments, there was a great fight for every possession. With two and a half minutes to go, after several good moves by Rorie, the score was tied, but the home team managed to break away from the penalty line in the end and grab a victory.
