BARAĆ: “WHEN THE OPPONENT GRABS 22 MORE REBOUNDS, YOU CAN’T EXPECT TO BE IN A POSITION TO WIN THE GAME, BUT WE’LL CONTINUE TO WORK”

Mega MIS lost to Igokea 76:87 (18:19, 19:25, 23:14, 16:29) in the first match at home in the new ABA league season. It was a close fight between Marko Barać’s team and the guests. Hosts even took the lead before the last 10 minutes, but Dragan Bajić’s more experienced team managed to break away in the decisive moments. In the end, Mega suffered the second defeat of the season.

Head coach of Mega Marko Barać pointed out that it is up to his team to continue working on improving.

Congratulations to the Igokea team on their well-deserved victory. They attacked us on the offensive glass from the get-go and prevented our quick first pass and counterattacks. In any game, in any league in the world, when the opponent grabs 22 more rebounds, you can’t expect to be in a position to win the game. We had a chance, but we missed some free throws. Thanks to the experience and quality of their perimeter players, they endured and ended the match in their favor. It’s up to us to keep working, fighting, and fixing problems in our game. We want to play fast and we have to protect our basket better in order to do that,

said Barać.

Mega will face Zadar in the third round of the regional championship, on Monday, October 17th, from 6:00 p.m.
