JOVANOVIC: “I DON’T WANT IT TO BE AN ALIBI, BUT 3 MATCHES IN 7 DAYS MUCH MORE EXPERIENCED TEAM COULD NOT STAND”

In the game of the 20th round of the ABA League, which was played in Podgorica, Mega Mozzart lost Buducnost VOLI with 86:69 (27:16, 22:21, 23:13, 14:19). Coach Vladimir Jovanovic’s team was defeated by SC Derby on Thursday, in the new game in SC Moraca they did not manage to seriously threaten the victory of Buducnost, which resolved the match with a run in the third quarter when they separated to a certain advantage.

At the press conference after the game, Mega’s coach Vladimir Jovanovic pointed out that this intensity of games does not suit his young team to turn talent into quality:

– Congratulations to Buducnost on the deserved victory. Except for the first minutes where we showed some resistance and where the game was tied, after that Buducnost took the strings in their hands and held them until the end of the game. I don’t want it to be an alibi, but this is too much for us, three games in seven days I think much more experienced teams can’t stand and not we with our roster. We have been functioning for years so that we have one game a week and when we have that peace where we can prepare for the next opponent, then we can give the undisputed talent we have to translate into quality. If we play in this intensity of matches, as I have already mentioned, I think it is impossible because on the other side we have a quality opponent, which was Buducnost tonight, and we are looking for reasons for defeat  in there. We have a little time left to prepare for the cup. We certainly did not provide what we wanted, there are objective reasons for such a thing, but we should not hide too much behind them,

said coach of Mega.
