JOVANOVIC: “WE HAVE TO ANSWER TO BUDUCNOST WITH SOLID DEFENSE”

On Sunday, December 20, at 12 o’clock, Mega Soccerbet will meet the team Buducnost VOLI in the 11th round of the ABA league, which has not lost game in the regional competition so far, and the match will be played in Hall of Sports Ranko Zeravica without spectators  due to the known situation after the Covid-19 pandemic. Coach Vladimir Jovanovic’s team is currently at the top of the standings with seven wins and three defeats, so the game against Buducnost will be of great importance for both teams.

Before the duel against Buducnost, Mega’s coach Vladimir Jovanovic stated that his team must respond to the opponent first of all with solid defense:

– A match awaits us against a very strong team that is making good results in two competitions. In the Eurocup, they have already achieved a placement to the Top 16, while in the ABA league they are the only undefeated team so far. They made very important steps as they won both derbies in Belgrade, against Partizan and Crvena zvezda. They are well balanced between the frontcourt and backcourt, as well as between domestic and foreign players. They have excellent Montenegrin players who form the core of the team, and the foreigners are carefully selected and make a real support to the team. A very difficult and intense match awaits us. We have to respond to them first of all with solid defense, which could be crucial. If we manage to establish our defense and control Buducnost’s attack and their offensive rebound, I believe we will be able to play a good game,

said coach of Mega.

After 10 rounds of the ABA league, Mega Soccerbet is currently on third place with a score of 7-3, while Buducnost is undefeated in the seven matches played so far. These two teams have met 16 times so far in the ABA league with a score of 12-4 for Buducnost. In the last round, Mega lost away to Partizan NIS with 79:77, while Buducnost celebrated in Podgorica against Mornar with 81:74.

Mega’s Guard Stefan Momirov pointed out that his team must invest all their energy during all 40 minutes of the game against Buducnost:

– After a painful defeat for us in the last seconds against Partizan, another very important match awaits us at home. Buducnost is an extremely high-quality opponent, which is indicated by their score in the ABA league, where they have not lost a game so far. We have to be concentrated, solid in defense and put all our energy into all 40 minutes of the game so that we can fight for a positive outcome in the end,

said Momirov.

The match Mega Soccerbet – Buducnost VOLI will be played on Sunday, December 20, at 12 o’clock in the Hall of Sports Ranko Zeravica, without the presence of the audience, with a live broadcast on TV Arena Sport.
