RATKOVICA: “WITH DEVOTED PLAY TO THE WIN IN LJUBLJANA”

On Saturday, January 13th, at 17:00, the Mega Bemax basketball team will continue to compete in the ABA league, when the Petrol Olimpija team will be in Ljubljana for the 15th round. Elected coach Dejan Milojević is struggling for the position that leads to the play-off, so the match against Olympias will have additional significance. Coach Mega Bemax in Ljubljana will not be able to count on Kosta Mushidija.

Milojevic stressed that he believes that the team can win in Ljubljana:

– On Sunday we play against Olimpija, a quality team that has an interesting mix of young and talented players on one side, and experienced basketball players on the other. They play three competitions and this has affected their results in the ABA league and it is certain that match with us is of great importance for them. In the last round, we had a chance for a great victory against Cedevita, but unfortunately we missed it after overtime. However, we are still in the competition for the play-off and every next match is of great importance to us. Above all, we have to play extremely aggressively in the defense and provide the necessary energy for all 40 minutes on the floor. If we succeed in this, I believe that we can win against Olimpija and continue the fight for the play-off,

Milojevic said.

After 14 rounds of the ABA league, Mega Bemax shares the 4th place in the standings with 8 wins and 6 defeats while Petrol Olimpija has 4 wins. Mega and Olimpija have so far met 11 times in the ABA league with 6-5 score for Olimpija. In the last match of the two teams played in the fourth round of the ABA League this season, Mega celebrated in Sremska Mitrovica after an overtime with 81:77.

The captain of Mega Bemax, Branislav Ratkovica, pointed out before match in Ljubljana that with devoted play, the team could get against Olimpija:

– We expect a match against Olimpija on Sunday, which has a lot of quality players. We linked two defeats and we will do our best to win in Ljubljana. We have to play the most devoted and combative, first and foremost in the defense, in order to come to the situation to fight for victory. We are still in the race for the playoffs and every match to the end of regular season of ABA is very important. We need to be concentrated on the field throughout the whole course of the game and if we succeed in that, I believe that we can achieve win a lot that would mean a lot to us, for results and for the confidence of the team,

said Ratkovica.

The match of the 15th round of the ABA League between Petrol Olimpija and Mega Bemax is scheduled for Sunday at 17:00 in the hall Stozice in Ljubljana, with a live broadcast on TV Arena Sport.
